Sara has a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Applied Biochemistry, both at the University of Minho. Now she is a PhD student of Social Sustainability and Development at Universidade Aberta and has as host institutions MARE/ARDITI, OOM/ARDITI, and CENSE. Education for sustainable development and marine litter are the areas that she is exploring in her PhD thesis, having organized over the last two years several awareness-raising activities for marine litter and beach clean-up actions.
