Elsa Fernandes

Elsa is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering. Graduated in Mathematics – Teaching Branch and with a Master’s and PhD in Didactics of Mathematics. There has been much research on the integration of technologies and more recently on digital technologies in teacher training. Concerned with the digital literacy of students and teachers, she has created learning scenarios where robots, augmented reality and 3D modeling are essential tools in learning the various areas of knowledge. Coordinated, between 2010 and 2013, the Robots project in Mathematics and Computer Education funded by FCT. Between 2016 and 2019 she was a member of the Project Learning with Technologies and Design of the Future of Teacher Education-Technology Enhanced Learning at Future Teacher Education Lab TEL @ FTELab funded by FCT. Coordinator of the UMa Macaronight Project (2018, 2019, 2020) – dissemination of science, one H2020- MSC project. With many publications on this theme. Since 2014, the project to train teachers from different areas of knowledge and levels of education has been coordinated – Learning Scenarios with digital technologies, a UMa project in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Education.
