Pauline Gauffier holds a PhD in Management and Conservation of the Sea from the University of Cádiz (Spain). Her main research interests focus on the ecology and conservation of marine mammals. She has worked for more than 10 years on western Mediterranean Sea cetaceans, mainly coordinating research programmes on large cetaceans including land and vessel-based surveys. Since 2020, she has been working on cetacean ecology and anthropogenic threats to marine mammals at the Madeira Whale Museum.
