Luena Soraya

Luena holds a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Évora, where her research focused on the IUCN assessment of the Cixiidae family in Madeira. She has experience in species mapping and developing conservation measures for species and habitats. Currently, she is an intern at the Insect Collection of the University of Madeira (UMaCI), contributing to writing laboratory and collection protocols, supporting research, and managing social media. Her research interests include insect conservation, Auchenorrhyncha (leafhoppers), science communication, and island systems.
