Madeira Digital Health and Wellbeing is a collaborative initiative that has as its main goal to promote digitalization in the areas of health and wellbeing, with direct impact on the tourism sector. Several digital innovation projects form part of this initiative, paving the way for the digital leadership of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) in the areas of health and wellbeing. Among these, the following stand out:

⦁ the Smart4Health project, with the platform for managing and sharing citizens’ health data across the European Union (EU), contributing to the promotion of better health and wellbeing;

⦁ the ICU4COVID project with the telemedicine system that transforms Intensive Care Units (ICUs) into hubs with a central command system linked to multiple hospitals and peripheral health centres;

⦁ the Smart Bear project with the digital health environment to improve and promote healthy and independent ageing of the senior population.
